COMPANY OVERVIEW
IMG Citrus, a leading integrated Citrus grower and marketer, based in Vero Beach Florida, is looking for a Citrus Business Developer.  Located in Indian River County, IMG Citrus operates as one of Florida's main distributors of fresh citrus. The company is vertically integrated --farming over 5000 acres in Florida, and operating a state of the art Packinghouse, and a 1,000 pallet refrigerated distribution center. Marketing and sales of Citrus domestically and globally is a core competency of the Company and is supported by an in-house sales/marketing team and Company own production of all Florida citrus varieties: grapefruit, oranges and tangerines. The Company is committed to growth of its Florida program through aggressive new plantings, acquisition of existing grove and consolidation opportunities. Another area of fast growth is the summer import program from the Southern Hemisphere allowing IMG Citrus to provide year round citrus to the most demanding customers in the USA and Canada.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Citrus Business Developer will join the Sales Team with the mission to support the rapid growth of the Company by growing established programs and developing new programs with leading food retailers in the USA and Canada for both Florida and imported Citrus.

JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Grow relationships with strategically aligned retailers in the USA and exporters around the world
  • Negotiate sales and promotional programs for both Florida and imported citrus
  • Develop strategic alliances with key customers
  • Continuously analyze trends and statistics to ensure strategic alignment and market relevance
  • Coordinate with support teams (sales, logistics, Packing, imports, accounting, QC, marketing)
  • Promote Company image and develop Main Company brands.
  • Travel to see customers and growers
 

The ideal candidate will have experience in working programs with leading food retailers in the US and imports. Experience of produce. Knowledge of Citrusa plus but not necessary.

Candidates must be able to work independently and be open to working collaboratively in teams.   

Position Reports: Director of Sales

External Relationships:  Produce Retailers, Southern Hemisphere citrus growers and packing houses, Florida citrus growers, Florida citrus packing houses

Internal Relationships: Sales Team, Accounting Team, Logistics Team, Executive Leadership Team, Packinghouse Team, Harvesting Team, Food Safety Team, Marketing Team

         
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Sales or business development experience in the produce industry (citrus a plus, but not necessary).
  • Knowledge of imports a plus
  • Experience in building programs with main produce retailers in the USA and Canada, with good understanding of the bidding processes with retailers.
  • Available to travel in targeted market with some travel to sourcing countries
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team

WORK HOURS & ENVIRONMENT

 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.
