SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Mechanic Helper will assist mechanic with basic repairs of agricultural sprayers and tractors. Supply the proper tools and parts to operators for minor repairs. Maintain mechanic shop equipment inventory. Communicate to Mechanic completed work repair orders and status of repairs. Maintain inventory of parts and communicate to Mechanic any needed inventory replacement. Welding and fabrication as needed.
Essential Duties

Under direction of Mechanic, perform maintenance and repair to agricultural equipment consisting of tractors, sprayers, booms, herbiciders, heavy equipment, etc...

Repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts

Clean, adjust, lubricate and perform other routine or scheduled maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.

Read and understand operating manuals to all grove and sod equipment.

Clean and maintain assigned work areas and dispose of hazardous materials according to established procedures.

Clean, organize, stock and maintain parts in shop and work areas.

Be able to work in a team oriented environment and maintain open and positive communications with all other team members and supervisors

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Vocational or Post High School Degree in Mechanics preferred, but not required.
- 1 - 3 years of mechanical experience preferred
- Working knowledge of all agricultural equipment.
- Organizational skills and quality assurance a must.
- Able to prioritize and work within deadlines.
- Ability to read and follow directions.
- Welding and Fabrication experience a plus
- Valid Driver's License with clean MVR.
WORK HOURS & ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
